Pledges focus on what matters most to Londoners

London Councils’ Pledges to Londoners set out the aspirations the 32 boroughs and the City of London have agreed to work on together to improve the lives of all the capital’s residents, says Peter John.

Politics is an uncertain business but the last three years have redefined what we mean by uncertainty. This makes it all the more important that local leaders come together to show leadership and ensure that their councils and their communities focus on the issues that matter to them.

London Councils' Pledges to Londoners have been developed since the borough elections last May. They set out the aspirations that we have agreed to work together on over the next three years to improve the lives of all Londoners. This is the first time London Councils, a cross-party organisation representing the 32 London boroughs and the City of London Corporation, have developed a series of shared pan-London priorities.
