The Government has been criticised by a select committee over the amount of evaluation it carries out on the impact of its policies.

A report published yesterday by the communities and local government committee said the department it is charged with scrutinising had used data ‘inconsistently' and ‘infrequently' used impact assessments to inform formulation of policy.
