Politicians must 'seize opportunity' to lead social care reforms

Leading medical and charity figures urge the Government and other party leaders to secure lasting agreement on reforms to the social care system.

The Government and other party leaders must secure lasting agreement from renewed cross-party talks to deliver fundamental reforms to the social care system, leading medical and charity figures have urged.

In an open letter published in The Daily Telegraph, 72 signatories including major charities, the NHS, the British Medical Association and peers, called upon politicians to 'seize the opportunity' to deliver a system capable of providing 'well funded and high-quality care and support'.
