Poll shows fallout from bedroom tax

Benefit claimants hit by bedroom tax forced to cut spending on food and heating, National Housing Federation reports.

Benefit claimants affected by the so-called bedroom tax are being forced to cut spending on food and heating, an affordable housing umbrella group reported today.

An Ipsos MORI poll commissioned by the National Housing Federation found nearly a third (32%) of those hit by the tightening of discretionary housing payments said they had cut back on food and more than a quarter (26%) had been forced to reduce heating bills.
