During a tumultuous start to a public administration select committee session last week, the firebrand Labour member Newport South, laid into cabinet secretary Sir Jeremy Heywood and Sir Bob Kerslake, head of the civil service and DCLG permanent secretary, for penning a joint newspaper article which praised the Iron Lady's relationship with the civil service.
