Poor Brand of humour

Lambeth LBC defends its honour.

Diary was disappointed this week to see Lambeth LBC take what is surely the lowest of all roads when it comes defending its honour – writing a letter to the offending party.

However, the good burghers of MJ Towers were even more disappointed in comedienne Jo Brand who – after offending Lambeth by comparing urban Streatham to a part of the anatomy from where the Sun most certainly doesn't shine – apologised and said her remark had ‘no serious intent behind it'. Is that not the point of comedy anyway? If so, why apologise?
