Senior London Councils figures have insisted the eight boroughs seeking new powers for their sub-region pose no threat to wider calls for devolution.

Senior London Councils figures have insisted the eight boroughs seeking new powers for their sub-region pose no threat to wider calls for devolution.

They welcomed the eastern boroughs' plans to present a case for greater devolution of powers from central and regional government, and argued they were compatible with mayor Boris Johnson and London Councils own joint talks with Whitehall.
