'Use pre-nups' to prevent board gridlock says NLGN

Councils and health trusts should sign 'pre-nup' agreements to prevent the new health and wellbeing boards (HWBs) becoming gridlocked, a local government think-tank has claimed.

Councils and health trusts should sign ‘pre-nup' agreements to prevent the new health and wellbeing boards (HWBs) becoming gridlocked, a local government think-tank has claimed.

In a report published on 15 May, the New Local Government Network (NLGN) said the Government's health reforms could stall unless the new boards were given more legislative powers and members agreed to pre-nuptial-style agreements on how resources were allocated.
