The Welsh are advising Deputy Prime Minister ~John Prescott~ that council tax revaluations should happen at least every five years.
~Sue Essex~, Welsh finance and local government minister, even referred, approvingly to the Danish system, where it happens every two years – one year for domestic and the next for business. Mrs Essex said, after an official visit to the country: ‘The frequency of revaluations seemed key in maintaining the perceived fairness of the taxation system – bi-annual significantly reduces the chances of steep rises between valuations.'
