Budgetary pressures mean local authorities have become more willing to talk about outsourcing, with each other and private sector firms, according to the chief executive of support services group May Gurney.

In an interview with The MJ, Philip Fellowes-Prynne said there would be more outsourcing in future and added that more councils were willing to talk about ‘what could be done' to help meet budget constraints.
