Preston City Council is to write to Preston's three MPs and the secretary of state for communities and local government Sajid Javid expressing its 'strong desire' for a referendum on the final terms of a Brexit deal.

The full council resolved to ask interim chief executive Adrian Phillips to write to them 'expressing this council and this city's strong desire for a referendum on the final terms of a Brexit deal, including the option to maintain full EU membership'.
