The Home Office has scrapped ‘overly confined’ terms of reference for an independent review of its Prevent strategy amid the threat of a legal challenge.

The Home Office has scrapped ‘overly confined' terms of reference for an independent review of its Prevent strategy amid the threat of a legal challenge.

It also said Lord Carlile, who oversaw the Government's first review of Prevent in 2011, will no longer fulfil the post of independent reviewer after the same challenge by charity Rights Watch (UK) argued that he could not be truly independent.
