Today’s Queen’s Speech is not expected to hold any great legislative surprises.

Today's Queen's Speech, the final one of the current five-year fixed-term Parliament, is not expected to hold any great legislative surprises, but is set to contain some measures that will be of interest to local government.

Among bills that will be continuing as ‘carry over' motions are the Deregulation Bill and the Wales Bill.
