Local government workers believe private sector involvement in delivering services has weakened a sense of public service ethos, a new report has claimed.

The report by think-tank Localis found that while the public has not noticed any decline, council workers feel the growing role of business has had a negative effect on the core values associated with working for the state and the quality of the services themselves.
