Probing possible post lockdown pensions trends

Lawyer Helen Woodford considers how the aftermath of the pandemic could impact and shape employees’ decisions on their membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme.

As we progress through the various stages of life after lockdown there is perhaps an increased air of hope that things will soon return to ‘normal'.

However, the phrase ‘a new normal' is possibly more commonplace right now given all our lives will surely be changed by the COVID pandemic to some degree. Below, I consider possible ways in which the COVID could shape employees' decisions in relation to their Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) membership.
