Eland House officials have refuted claims that council tax benefit (CTB) funding is to be slashed by a further 8.5% from 2014.

Stevenage BC leader, Cllr Sharon Taylor, informed the Local Government Association's (LGA) executive meeting on 10 January that an additional £280m would be slashed from the £3.3bn cash available to help vulnerable people who struggled to pay council tax in 2014/15.
