Care home providers have accused the Care Quality Commission (CQC) of ‘missing the point' over a report which highlighted difficulties in getting doctors to visit homes.

According to the CQC report on healthcare services for care home residents, just 38% of homes receive routine visits from GPs, and 10% reported having to pay for such visits.
