Public failed by 'bungled' PCC elections

A report released today says almost 90% of residents in England and Wales, do not know who their Police and Crime Commissioner is.

Almost 90% of residents in England and Wales have no idea who their Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is despite the £75m price tag for the elections last year, according to a report released today.

The Electoral Reform Society's How not to run an election criticises the voting process as failing both the public and the candidates due to a raft of issues that led to the lowest voter turnout in peacetime history on 15 November 2012.
