Local authority public health expenditure should be ring-fenced for the foreseeable future, the chief executive of Public Health England (PHE) has urged.

The comments from Duncan Selbie were made in response to today's report by spending watchdogs the National Audit Office into the activity of the Department of Health (DH) executive agency.
