Public sector net borrowing down £9.3bn

Public sector net borrowing was down by £9.3bn in the financial year 2013/14 compared to the previous year, according to the ONS.

Public sector net borrowing was down by £9.3bn in the financial year 2013/14 compared to the previous year once quantitative easing and the Royal Mail pension fund transfer are removed from the figures, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

The ONS' latest monthly statement said borrowing was £105.8bn last financial year compared to £115.1bn the year before.
