Local government minister, Bob Neill, has warned councils that have yet to publish online their spending over £500 that they have just over one month left.

It came as the department revealed preliminary statistics showing the transparency guidance on the department's website was getting 100 hits a day. Westminster City Council announced this week it was the latest council to reveal online details of its £1bn budget.
