In pursuit of an agile civil service

Jonathan Werran wonders if it will be possible to break the 'Oxbridge mould' in Whitehall.

Distracted by the ever-worsening horror that is ‘hackgate', government managers have managed to concertina the Open public services White Paper into the pint-pot of fast-evaporating time before the parliamentary recess.

Special adviser, Dan Corry, has previously and rightly questioned in The MJ the perceived need for each government to impress its own unique stamp on public services. But this begs the question, what sort of official is expected to drive this latest recasting?
