High street shopping guru Mary Portas comes under fire for suggesting in her review that the Cambridgeshire city of Ely is an example of poor planning.

High street shopping guru Mary Portas has come under fire for suggesting in her review this week that the Cambridgeshire city of Ely was an example of poor planning.

Peter Moakes, leader of East Cambridgeshire DC which includes Ely, said her comments were 'damning and misleading' and defended the council's strategy to protect its high street and markets.
