Volunteers and people acting for the common good are to be given protection from negligence claims under a new Bill outlined in the Queen's Speech today.

The Social Action, Responsibility and Heroism Bill is designed to give peace of mind from court action against ‘those who are acting for the benefit of society, demonstrating a generally responsible approach towards protecting the safety of others or intervening in an emergency'.
