No quick fix as challenges grow

A complex and daunting set of political and policy problems faced England's councillors and chiefs of children and adult care services gathered last week in Bournemouth.

The delegates at the National Children and Adult Services Conference (NCASC) were counting the costs of those challenges on the heels of an Autumn Statement that had nothing to say about investing in social care.
