Local communities should have been more involved in the consultation of the new High-Speed Rail 2 line through the Chilterns, the Commons transport select committee has heard.

The Campaign to Protect Rural England lead transport campaigner, Ralph Smyth, criticised planning minister Greg Clark and told the committee: ‘Mr Clark talked about improving policy by having involvement throughout the process.
