We're ready for change

If we grasp the opportunity of reforms to the education, special educational needs and social care systems ahead of us we can make big improvements to children’s outcomes, says Steve Crocker.

There has never been a more challenging time to be a director of children's services.

A decade of austerity has hampered our ability to support children and families at the earliest opportunity; at the same time the number who need our support has risen dramatically.
