I support the Government's desire to get 1.5 million homes built this parliament. Good housing is integral to a happy, healthy and cohesive society.

Ministers' ambition on housebuilding is to be welcomed. We want to work with the Government to overcome our local housing shortages. However, many practical difficulties need to be resolved to bring about the house-building revolution we all seek. And there is a huge difference between granting planning permission and ensuring houses are physically built.
