Recycling that makes a difference

Each Christmas Rushcliffe BC collects food and clothes for a local homeless charity - and the waste teams take huge pride in collecting the thousands of items that are picked up at the same time residents put out their wheeled bins, says David Banks

Waste Collection is probably one of the most high profile and valuable services that Councils deliver. However, how can we make it even more valued by our local communities and help to support some of the most vulnerable in our society?

Here at Rushcliffe we are always looking at ways in which our services can offer added value and our successful campaign with a local homeless charity the Friary sees residents leave out bags of non-perishable food and clothes for vulnerable people once a year, at the same time they place their wheeled bin out for collection.
