Latest figures from East Northamptonshire Council show the authority's new recycling scheme has dramatically reduced the amount of waste sent to landfill by thousands of tonnes in just a few months.

Cllr Glenn Harwood, waste project board member, thanked residents, saying they had saved the council £200,00 in landfill taxes.
