The West Midlands has refused to take any more asylum seekers unless the Home Office agrees to a ‘more equitable spread’ across all UK councils.

A letter from the region's council leaders, seen by The MJ, informed home secretary Priti Patel of the ‘immediate suspension' of their involvement in the Government's dispersal scheme for all future asylum seekers.
