Regions need 'stronger voice' at Smith Square

The chairman of East Midlands Councils has called for the Local Government Association (LGA) to adopt a ‘more federal structure’.

The chairman of East Midlands Councils has called for the Local Government Association (LGA) to adopt a ‘more federal structure'.

Speaking ahead of the publication of the independent review into the LGA, Cllr Jon Collins, who is also leader of Nottingham City Council, called for groups such as the Core Cities and East Midlands Councils to have a ‘stronger voice' within Smith Square.
