Regulators refusing to make care home deaths public

Regulators are keeping the COVID-19 death tolls at individual care homes secret in part to protect the interests of providers before a possible second spike in coronavirus cases, it is revealed.

Regulators are keeping the COVID-19 death tolls at individual care homes secret in part to protect the interests of providers before a possible second spike in coronavirus cases, it is revealed.

In response to freedom of information requests from The Guardian, England's Care Quality Commission(CQC) and the Care Inspectorate in Scotland are refusing to make public which homes or providers had the most deaths.
