Report backs case for care in the home

Councils should play a central role in providing retirement and care homes for the elderly, while helping people stay in their own homes.

Councils should play a more central role in providing retirement and care homes for the elderly, as well as helping people stay in their own homes, according to an all party Parliamentary report.

The Live Well at Home report, published by the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Housing and Care for Older People, says that helping people to enjoy a better quality of life in their own homes will help reduce long-term care and health costs.
