Report criticises care and health services for elderly

Councils and health services have been accused of being ‘patronising and thoughtless' in their treatment of older people, and of failing to treat them with dignity and respect.

The critical comments are made in the first joint report by the Healthcare Commission, ~Audit Commission~ and ~Commission for Social Care Inspection~ which highlights a lack of co-ordination and low priority given to services for the elderly.
