Report earmarks potential savings from digital tech

Councils could make more than £5bn total savings through better use of digital technology over the next decade, a report issued today has indicated.

Councils could make more than £5bn total savings through better use of digital technology over the next decade, a report issued today has indicated.

The paper, issued by the Department for Communities and Local Government's Local Digital Campaign and UKAuthority, shows councils which have invested more resources in online services saw average cost savings increase from around £1m in 2013 to £1.4m in 2014.
