Local government pension funds with good governance perform better over five and 10 years than those without, a report has found.

Consultancy Clerus found that nine out of 10 local government pension schemes do not ‘substantially comply' with Myners' principle of funds having performance measurement of investment advisers and their own investment decision-making.
