Residential care collapse could cost NHS £3bn

The NHS could be hit with a £3bn bill as the result of an imminent crisis in residential care, claims a new report from ResPublica.

The NHS could be hit with a £3bn bill as the result of an imminent crisis in residential care, claims a new report from ResPublica.

The independent think tank warns that over the next five years residential care homes could lose 37,000 beds, which would mean the NHS would have to accommodate those unable to go anywhere else.
