Responding to the 4Children fallout

When charity 4Children entered administration earlier this year, support had to be maintained for young people. Carol Iddon explains the challenges and successes following the transfer of teams and services

At the end of August Action for Children took over the running of 96 sites across the UK from fellow children's charity 4Children, which had entered administration as a result of funding pressures and the loss of key contracts.

Discussions between the two organisations began earlier this year and the overriding aim was to maintain the best possible continuity of service for those children, young people and families supported by 4Children.
