A former deputy opposition leader at Broxbroune BC has accused the authority of ‘pretending' to consider scrapping its chief executive post to avoid political embarrassment.

In the immediate aftermath of May's local polls, Broxbourne told The MJ it was deliberating on changes to its management structure, by either abolishing or merging the post of chief executive, in a quest to make cash savings.
