Restructure 'option' remains

Despite reorganisation in Wales being ruled out for now, restructure ‘may not stay off the agenda forever', according to Sir Jeremy Beecham.

Addressing the Welsh Local Government Association  conference in Llandudno last week, the former leader of the LGA said reorganising councils in Wales would, at this stage, be ‘a diversion from the main task of improving and delivering public services'. And leader of the WLGA, Derek Vaughan, added that large-scale reorganisation of local government would be a ‘distraction'.
