Housing secretary Michael Gove has ordered a review into London’s housing shortages claiming the number of new homes is far below the level needed and calling it ‘a woeful picture.’

Housing secretary Michael Gove has ordered a review into London's housing shortages claiming the number of new homes is far below the level needed and calling it ‘a woeful picture.'

Mr Gove has set up a ‘panel of expert advisers,' that includes former Local Government Association chairman James Jamieson and led by planning lawyer Christopher Katkowski KC, to find out why thousands of new homes are not being built as part of the London Plan, in particular on brownfield sites.
