Guy Brett hails the development of single asset management companies as a new era for local government

The Cabinet Office recently announced its backing to allow six public sector organisations in the West Midlands to set up a revolutionary single asset management company.

The company, Place Partnership, brings together the estates associated with various public services in the region – including councils, police and fire authorities – under the management of one commercial board. There is also the future opportunity that this company can expand even further to incorporate the central civil estate and health.
