The Government must hold an urgent summit meeting and provide resources to help solve the refugee crisis, shadow communities and local government secretary Emma Reynolds has demanded.

She said the crisis was the biggest since the Second World War and Britain had a ‘proud tradition of offering sanctuary to those fleeing conflict and persecution'.
