Richmond and Kingston issue integration plans

Richmond LBC and Kingston RLBC issue plans to create single entity to manage children’s services.

Richmond LBC and Kingston RLBC have issued plans to set up a joint local authority owned company to oversee and manage children's services within the neighbouring London boroughs.

Under the proposals - to be discussed at Kingston Council's People's Services Committee next week before going to Richmond Council's Cabinet next month - Nick Whitfield, who is Richmond's director of children's services would take command of the new company from next April.
