Right to Buy, the right way

The Government has pledged to bring in a right for communities to buy valued local assets. Josh Westerling says it must get the legislation right, and that local government’s role is vital for success

In its first King's Speech, the Government committed to introducing a right for communities to buy valued community assets such as empty shops, pubs and community spaces.

This Community Right to Buy is something that Power to Change and many other organisations have long called for. It is an important idea.
