Ring-fenced health money may have a wider remit

MJ editorial director, Michael Burton, suggests council use of ring-fenced public health cash could go swimmingly - literally.

Last weekend, I read in my local paper that my council, Hillingdon LBC, had made the impressively pro-active decision to refurbish one of the local swimming pools at a cost of £4.5m.

This comes on top of building a brand new indoor and outdoor pool. In theory, we residents should be among the fittest in London – despite the ongoing austerity measures.
