A group of MPs this week called for ‘robust political leadership' from the Government to help councils improve road safety standards, following recent increases in road fatalities.

The Commons' transport committee urged ministers to spread councils' best practice, ‘in particular noting innovative practices and multi-agency approaches' and effective methods of providing 20mph zones.
