The ex-chief executive of Rochdale BC has spoken of the damage done by the public outcry over plans to give him a £40,000 pay rise.

Jim Taylor, who is now council director at Salford City Council, was hauled in front of the communities and local government committee last week to defend what Mark Pawsey MP called a ‘heck of a percentage increase'.
