Rochdale: Leader resigns amid ongoing child abuse inquiry

The leader of Rochdale MBC has resigned due to pressure from the local Labour party amid an ongoing investigation into child abuse.

The leader of Rochdale MBC has resigned due to pressure from the local Labour party amid an ongoing investigation into child abuse in the area.

Richard Farnell said he stepped down after repeated calls from his Labour colleagues at the council.
